Ship modes are four modes you can choose for your ship's crew while in a combat encounter. All have their purposes as well as advantages and disadvantages.
Sailing[]
The default mode when entering combat. Offers the following modifiers:
- Reload multiplier: 0.2
- Ship turning speed: 0.4
- Global repair time bonus: 0.5
- Cannot prepare boarding, remove water, patch leaks, or put out fires.
Gunnery[]
A mode focused on firing and dealing damage.
- Reload multiplier: 0.01 (2000% faster than in default mode)
- Ship turning speed: 0.3 (25% slower)
- Global repair time bonus: 0.5
- Sail rising speed: -0.2 (20% slower)
- Cannot prepare boarding, remove water, patch leaks, or put out fires.
Survival[]
In this mode, the crew focuses on keeping the ship afloat.
- Reload multiplier: 1 (500% slower than in default mode)
- Ship turning speed: 0.3 (25% slower)
- Global repair time bonus: -0.2 (20% faster repair than base value)
- Fires are extinguished, water removed from the hull, and all leaks are patched up.
- Cannot prepare boarding.
Boarding[]
The crew prepares for boarding, loading weapons and gathering on the upper deck.
- Reload multiplier: 1 (500% slower than in default mode), except for the first deck which enjoys a -0.29 multiplier (firing faster)
- Ship turning speed: 0.4 (equal to sailing)
- Troops gather at a rate of 0.83/s
- All crew on the first deck receives 30% more damage
- Global repair time bonus: 0.5
- Cannot remove water, patch leaks, or put out fires.
